Principle
This website does without cookies and without tracking that identifies individuals. No profiles are built and no data is passed on for advertising purposes. Anonymous web analytics is provided by a cookieless service (see the “Web analytics” section). Fonts are served locally; there is no connection to Google Fonts or any other font service.
Hosting
This website is hosted with Vercel Inc. (USA) and served via European server locations. When the website is accessed, the host processes technically necessary data (IP address, date and time of access, page requested, browser type) in server log files in order to deliver the website securely and reliably. Transfers to the USA are based on the Swiss-U.S. Data Privacy Framework and the standard contractual clauses.
Web analytics
For statistical analysis of website usage I use Vercel Web Analytics (Vercel Inc., USA). The service works without cookies and without cross-device recognition: no identifiers are stored on your device and no profiles are built. Only aggregated metrics are recorded, such as pages visited, approximate region of origin, device type and referring website; the IP address is used only briefly and without being stored to derive anonymous values. It is not possible to draw conclusions about individual people. Transfers to the USA are based on the Swiss-U.S. Data Privacy Framework and the standard contractual clauses. Because no personal data is stored on or read from your device, no consent is required for this.

If you write to me by email, your details (address, content of the message) are stored to handle your enquiry and any follow-up questions. I do not pass on this data without your consent.
Protection against automated requests
To protect the enquiry form (on the German-language consulting page) against spam and abuse by bots, I use Vercel BotID (Vercel Inc., USA; for provider and transfer details see the “Hosting” section). When the form is submitted, a JavaScript check runs in your browser and sends technical browser and device signals to Vercel. These signals are used to assess whether the request comes from a human or from an automated program before it is processed. In addition, the form contains a field that is invisible to humans and serves as a trap for bots; it contains no personal data. The time at which the form was loaded is also sent, so that suspiciously fast submissions can be detected. To limit the number of requests, a salted hash is derived from your IP address and counted only briefly in memory; it is not stored permanently. This processing is based on my legitimate interest in protecting the form against abuse.
